We use different types of technologies to collect this information including cookies, action tags, web beacons and single pixel GIFs.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information. Non-Personally Identifiable Information, or “Non-PII”, is information that, by itself, cannot be tracked to a specific individual. LiveRail may collect Non-PII while you are visiting the Site or the Web site of one of LiveRail’s advertisers or Web publishers (collectively referred to as “Business Customers”). While providing the Services, LiveRail may collect Web Surfing Data such as web surfers’ IP addresses, web pages that have been visited, time and date, and whether or not a web surfer clicked on various advertisements (“Web Surfing Data”). If you choose to click on an advertisement, LiveRail may provide Non-PII to the advertiser and Web publisher.
Personally Identifiable Information, or “PII”, is data that can be used directly, or with reasonable effort, indirectly, to contact or identify you, and may include, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, email address and home address. When using services offered through LiveRail or its Business Customers, you may choose to enter your name, contact information, and/or other personal information. Other than personal information collected by LiveRail on its own Site (in such cases, you will have clear notification that we are collecting this information so that you can choose not to provide it), LiveRail has no use for PII and will take all precautions to avoid receiving PII from our customers and partners. Due to the nature of the Internet, however, LiveRail cannot completely control the type of information that others may send to our servers. If LiveRail is made aware that it received PII, it will use all efforts to remove that information from its records. In addition, if it is made aware that it has inadvertently passed PII to its customers or partners, it will use all efforts to ensure they remove that information from their records.
The Non-PII that LiveRail collects is used for enhancement of our services, marketing, and to more effectively match advertisements and website content to your interests. LiveRail may also use Non-PII to better target content to users in an effort to create a personally relevant experience. The data are also used to predict responses to advertisements and to help determine which ads perform best and which content is most appropriate for different individuals. LiveRail provides most data in the aggregate form, but may provide user-level Non-PII to its partners for reporting purposes.
If you provide us PII on our own Site, we use your PII to respond to your inquiries. LiveRail does not provide PII to Business Customers or other third parties unless the nature of your inquiry concerns products or services provided by one of our Business Customers, then we will provide that information only to that Business Customer so that they may attempt to provide you with information regarding the products or services you inquired about.
In some cases, our customers can choose to use our ad tags to pass information to buyers about you, such as demographic information you have previously volunteered to them (for example, during the registration process) so long as they have the right to use this information for ad selection. Our policy forbids such information to be PII, and if we are made aware that we were unknowingly passed PII, we will purge such information from our servers and request that such customer cease sending us such information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these web sites and you should check the applicable privacy policies of such web sites you visit to determine how they handle any information they collect from you.
The ads delivered as a result of our Services may be served by third parties that may use their own cookies and/or other data collection tools. In addition, the ads themselves may also contain links to other websites with their own cookies and/or other data collection tools.
Third party data providers are companies that collect information about your behaviors through relationships with many of the web sites you visit. For example, many of them collect Non-PII about the content areas or pages of the web sites that you visit (e.g., “sports section” or “technology section”). We partner with many of these third parties to provide their data to our customers in aggregate and anonymous form. For example, if one of our customers learns that 25% of their audience is interested in sports, this helps them sell advertising more effectively.
If you do not want to receive cookies from LiveRail, be sure to disable cookies in your browser or you can opt-out from having us collect your Non-PII in connection with our Services. The opt-out process will place an opt-out cookie on your computer. The opt-out cookie tells us not to collect your Non-PII and to avoid writing another cookie to your computer. Please note that if you delete, block or otherwise restrict cookies, or if you use a different computer or Internet browser, you may need to renew your opt-out choice. European Union web surfers understand and consent to the processing of personal information in the United States.

LiveRail retains the anonymous user-level data it collects in its raw logs for 3 years, but only allows such data to be shared for reporting purposes for 3 months. After 3 years all user-level data is deleted.
LiveRail is very sensitive to the issue of the privacy rights or children. LiveRail’s Site and Services generally are neither developed for, nor directed at, children. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with PII without their consent, he or she should contact us at support@LiveRail.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with PII, we will delete such information from our files. LiveRail does not collect nor does it permit the targeting of advertising based on sensitive information regarding medical and health-related matters.
Service Providers. We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Services. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
LiveRail makes significant efforts to maintain the security of its network and the data we collect. We use various technologies, including, in certain instances, encryption, to ensure high security standards. Any data that is stored on LiveRail’s servers is treated as confidential and is not generally available to the public. LiveRail has an internal security policy with respect to the confidentiality of customer and other data, limiting access only to those employees who we reasonably believe need to know such information for the purpose of performing their jobs. Please keep in mind, however, that the Internet is not a 100% secure medium. Therefore, although we use reasonable efforts to protect information, the possibility of an individual defeating our security measures does exist.
If you have questions or concerns regarding this policy, or if you’d like us to update, correct, delete, or deactivate any PII that you have provided to us on this Site, you should contact LiveRail by sending email to support@LiveRail.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.
